Imagine the life of a pawn. Innocent, Soldierly, Relentless. At times, insignificant. But after all of the big guys have gone - after the sand has run out of the hourglass - The Pawn begins his march. Down the board he goes; an unrelenting juggernaut. Gaining strength with each move, each rank gained. The Pawn is the soul of chess; often forgot about, but ever-present. The army marches on its Pawns. Like all of us, quiet and unsuspecting awaiting our day in the sun. The Pawn.

DeathByPawns1: Why doesn't Karpov play the Greek Gift here on move 15? 15. Bxh7+ 15. ..Kxh7 16. Ng5+ Kg8 17. Qxh5 15. ..Kxh7 16. Ng5+ Kg8 17. Qd3+ 15. ..Kh8 16. Ng5 Nf6 17. Bd3 at the very least wins a pawn. The first two look extremely solid. What am I missing here?

DeathByPawns1: How about 21. Rd5. 21. Rd5 Nxf3+ 22. Bxf3 Qxf3 23. Rxf5 Qe4 Black is up a piece, but White has a pawn and some counter-play as compensation. If 21. Rd5 - is that the right continuation? Or did I miss something here?
