EXIDE
Member since Apr-07-04 · Last seen Jan-07-16
I have retired from engineering. I used to play chess in my college days about 30 years ago. Not played since then. I have never played in a tournament. I liked to play games, by Tal and Fisher of the 60's.

Sep-15-15 Delchev vs Topalov, 2004 (replies)

EXIDE: I went with 33...,Nxf3 and followed with 34 PxN,Rxf3 with the same results ? or 34 Qf2, RxR+ winning

   Jul-09-15 G Gross vs C Hacker, 1996 (replies)

EXIDE: I tried hard but cannot see the win after 20. Re6:pxR 21Be5+,Bf6 or such similar lines.

   Jul-06-15 T Cagasik vs J Brooke, 2007 (replies)

EXIDE: looks like 22. Pxh7+,kh8 23Bxn # will work also. OR 22. Pxh7+,kg7 23. Ph8=Q+,rxQ 24. Qxr+,kg6 25.Qh6#

May-08-13 Anand - Carlsen World Championship Match (2013) (replies)

EXIDE: How does it matter. To the best of my knowledge Anand moved to Spain early in his career and that is his home. I doubt if he even owns a home in Chennai.

   Feb-14-13 A Korotylev vs Z Izoria, 1998 (replies)

EXIDE: I have, 27.Bxf5,PxR 28.Rf1,NxB 29.RxN+,Ke8 30.RxR+,Kd7 31.Rf7+,Ne7 32.Qf5,Qd8 33.RxN+,QxR 34.BxQ wins

   Feb-05-13 Adorjan vs H Wirthensohn, 1983 (replies)

EXIDE: I do not see an easy win after 30.Bd8,Qc6. In any case I missed this one completely.

Jan-23-13 Lilienthal vs Kotov, 1948 (replies)

EXIDE: Missed this one. This is harder than a 2 star. Nice ending though!!

   Jan-14-13 L Piasetski vs L Day, 1972 (replies)

EXIDE: This has a twist to it. If white moves 34.Kg1 then black gives up the rook with 34....,Rh1+, 35.KxR,Qh3+ 36.Kg1,Qg2++

   Jan-07-13 C Cacco vs Khenkin, 1998 (replies)

EXIDE: I think the simple 24.Rc8+ wins too. Black 24...,Nd8 is forced and white takes the black Queen after 25.Qg6+

   Jan-01-13 A Mithil vs D Aaron, 2011 (replies)

EXIDE: Missed this one entirely. Not good, I wish they would reverse the board so that black is playing upward , like one would if one were playing as black. Anyway missing Tuesday puzzle is dissapointing.
