I live in Brazil, don´t have a rating, my favorite players are Fischer, Kasparov, Tal and Korchnoi, etc.

Fanques Fair has kibitzed 495 times to chessgames   [more...]
   Aug-26-25 Firouzja vs Praggnanandhaa, 2025

Fanques Fair: Firouzja is a bluffer.

   Aug-25-25 Caruana vs Firouzja, 2025

Fanques Fair: Firouja has an obvious weakness : he can´t wait in a worse but solid position. In this game the whole c4? plan was all that White needed to make use of the d-passed pawn.

Aug-23-25 Abdusattorov vs Aronian, 2025 (replies)

Fanques Fair: After 29-Rxg5, Rxe3, 30- Rxe3, Qd1+, 31-Kf2, Qxb1 , 32-Re2 I don´t see any good continuation for Black.

Apr-14-24 Nakamura vs Caruana, 2024 (replies)

Fanques Fair: Caruana loses a almost equal position in a weird sequence of mistakes. Instead of 28...,Nf8 he could have exchanged the rooks in a better situation immediately with 28...,Bd7, 29-Rxe8,Rxe8, 30-Rxe8,Bxe8, 31-Qe3,Bd7 , 32-h5,Nf8 and Black has a solid position, although White ...

   Dec-01-22 A Pomar vs Spassky, 1971

Fanques Fair: How does Black win here ? 50- h6, Be2 51- h7, Bd3#

Jun-25-22 Rapport vs Nepomniachtchi, 2022 (replies)

Fanques Fair: Beautiful Bh3 by Nepo.

Jun-23-22 Radjabov vs Rapport, 2022 (replies)

Fanques Fair: It´s a shame that Radjabov didn´t spot his real winning chances. I guess it´s too many years only looking for draws.

Jun-23-22 World Championship Candidates (2022) (replies)

Fanques Fair: The only window of the candidates that is wide and open enough to outsiders is the World Cup, but as it is an eliminatory event and only gives one only place in the tournament , it does not resolve the problem. I think the old Interzonal tournaments are much more fair .

Jun-23-22 Nepomniachtchi vs Duda, 2022 (replies)

Fanques Fair: Just like Firouzja and Rapport, Duda is not strong enough yet to play at the Candidates. It´s obvious that something in the system of classification of FIDE is not right.

Jun-23-22 Firouzja vs Caruana, 2022 (replies)

Fanques Fair: That only goes to show that Firouzja is not as strong as his rating suggests, and insufficiently experienced for a competition at this level. His rating is clearly inflated by oportunitties that he had and others didn´t. Wesley So, MVL, Giri and others would be better ...
