   Apr-05-10 M Aaron vs Robatsch, 1962

GreenCastle: Nice king & rook endgame.

   Jun-09-08 S Marder vs J Hector, 2001 (replies)

GreenCastle: Interesting to note that Jonny Hector play the Veresov for White. This 2..e5 business is curious. 4.Nb5 Nc6 5.Nf3 Bc5 6.Bg5! followed by c3 is already better for White.

   Feb-16-08 Rafal Kazmierczak (replies)

GreenCastle: Steve's father is Robert Kazmierczak, but I doubt Robert was under 18 years old in 2001. So I'm guessing no.

   Jan-18-08 Robert James Fischer (replies)

GreenCastle: http://myespn.go.com/s/conversation... The reaction of most people who don't play chess in this thread is sad. They can't look past Fischer's antisemitism or 9-11 remarks and appreciate what he accomplished for chess and his country.

   Jan-17-08 Harikrishna vs Sutovsky, 2005

GreenCastle: I've analyzed this and I can't find a significant mistake by either side... truly a thing of beauty :)

   Nov-24-07 Rubinstein vs J Mieses, 1905 (replies)

GreenCastle: 18...Qxc5 loses an exchange to 19.Bc4+ Kh8 20.Bd6 Qb6 21.Bf7 [DIAGRAM] The Re8 cannot escape the fury of White's bishops (..Rd8 Be7)

GreenCastle: <whiteshark: 1. Rh1+ Kb2 2. Ra1! Kxa1 3. Kc2!> Does 1.d5 also work? 1.d5 exd5 2.Kc3 a1=Q+ 3.Kb3 and Black can't stop Rh1+. [DIAGRAM] 1...exd5 2.Kc3 a1=N 3.Rd2 Kc1 is a possible defense, I guess. [DIAGRAM]

   Sep-12-07 Alekhine vs J A Seitz, 1925 (replies)

GreenCastle: 22.♖g8+! ♔ moves 23.gxh3 There is no good way to meet the threat of Bxc6. Black will be down a whole rook.

Sep-12-07 Petrosian vs Flohr, 1942 (replies)

GreenCastle: <ChessDude33> 5...♘xf2 6.♔xf2 ♕h4+ 7.g3 ♕xe4 8.♘f3 ♗c5+ is hardly 'silly'. Still, Black probably doesn't have enough for the piece as it is difficult to get his pieces out.

   Aug-10-07 J T Collins vs Alburt, 1987 (replies)

GreenCastle: Nice tactical endgame.
