Mar-11-18 World Championship Candidates (2018) (replies)

Hunter16: Will be interesting to see how Kramnik continues, and especially how he fares against the young guns.If he wins the Candidates, the WC will receive a lot of hype,Kramnik vs. Carlsen would be a great event.

Jun-11-17 Aronian vs Carlsen, 2017 (replies)

Hunter16: Interesting game, but can you really call this a "brilliancy"?Credit to Aronian, but Black could have saved this if he hadn't dropped his queen into that messy corner of the board.Thoughts, everyone?

May-13-17 So vs Carlsen, 2017 (replies)

Hunter16: Head-to-head records don't necessarily determine the better player unless they're crushing.

Nov-21-16 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)

Hunter16: Karjakin got Magnus on the counter attack, which I suspect has been his plan all along. However, write Carlsen off at your own peril. He's not going the highest rating ever for nothing.

Nov-15-16 Karjakin vs Carlsen, 2016 (replies)

Hunter16: 91..f3. Wouldn't this be a blunder?The knight forks with Ne3+.

Nov-14-16 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)

Hunter16: Without a computer analysis,I'd take a guess and say that this was slightly better for white.Karjakin is extremely well prepared. But I think we'll see something interesting in Game 4.

Nov-13-16 Karjakin vs Carlsen, 2016 (replies)

Hunter16: Hmm.....I think the champion and the challenger are both getting a taste of each other.A Sicilian would've been a more dynamic choice though.Expect fireworks in Game 4.

Nov-12-16 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)

Hunter16: I think this is a good result for Karjakin, because GMs usually prefer white.Carlsen should go for e4 because I think he's better suited to breaking open lines like the Caro. The Trompovsky is an interesting choice to kick a WC match off though.

   Nov-03-16 J Rosanes vs Anderssen, 1863 (replies)

Hunter16: Can anyone tell me if 21...B×d4 also wins? Thank you.

Aug-08-16 Nimzowitsch vs Systemsson, 1927 (replies)

Hunter16: Can anyone explain what overprotection actually means? All I know is that it's the concept of defending an important square or piece to discourage attacks against with the hope of a long term advantage.Am I right?Do correct me if needed, thanks.
