Feb-01-23 Giri vs Carlsen, 2023 (replies)

ILikeKeres: It's tactical shot after tactical shot in this game by Giri. I think that 12...d6 may have been too slow, and 12 ... 0-0 may have been better to give up the pawn. Otherwise, Carlsen just gets run over by the initiative here.

   Oct-26-22 C Yoo vs Xiong, 2022

ILikeKeres: I would hate having to play this knight endgame as either side.

   Oct-21-22 Caruana vs Lenderman, 2022

ILikeKeres: Nice game.

Oct-07-22 Niemann vs Xiong, 2022 (replies)

ILikeKeres: Interesting encounter between two promising youngsters. I would have considered the immediate 17. b4 followed by a c4 push after the exchanges. 25...Rf2 was worth a try. I don't see why exchanging rooks with 37...Rf8 is wrong either.

ILikeKeres: Nice endgame.

   Sep-23-22 75th Russian Championship (2022) (replies)

ILikeKeres: Russia is mobilizing more troops in the war, and is forcing protestors to go to the front lines. I wish the fighting would stop. https://www.npr.org/2022/09/23/1124...

ILikeKeres: <macer75> Whoa! I've seen you around on chess.com, mostly on the forums. Glad to see you here.

ILikeKeres: Wow. What is going on? There was an investigation at Sinquefield, and Niemann was exonerated. Poor taste on Carlsen's part, but he still wants to claim plausible deniability. Everything is tossed out the window at this point.

   Sep-17-22 Y Zhapova vs E Goltseva, 2022

ILikeKeres: What's wrong with 11.Bd2?

   Sep-17-22 E Goltseva vs V Gunina, 2022

ILikeKeres: 8. g4 !? is weakening. White's initiative doesn't look really strong. Black beats off the attack, and strikes back with 27...e5! After black seizes control of the center, it's game over. This is a textbook example sticking to classical principles.
