IanDavis: Arthur Cootes was a true gentleman at the chessboard. He started playing late in life, but reached a very respectable level. Well known locally in Ulster for his entertaining sacrificial play. RIP.

IanDavis: Ray Devenney jointly won the Irish Championship in 1977

   Sep-13-09 Mark Orr (replies)

IanDavis: Mark Orr was the first Irish Player to achieve the International Master title

   Sep-13-09 Bernard Kernan (replies)
