   Oct-27-06 W Schmidt vs J Lewi, 1968 (replies)

Insightful: On 33 I probably would have done 33.Bxe4 planning to follow it up with 34.Bd3. With both the knight and the rook pinned.

Oct-04-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

Insightful: <cotdt> So if Qf1 Ke4... where is the mate on the next move? I don't see it.

   Jun-26-06 G Neumann vs C Mayet, 1866 (replies)

Insightful: This is about the most obvious Queen sac I've ever seen!

   Jun-07-06 R J Fontinha vs W Nash, 1988 (replies)

Insightful: When I went to see the movie there were two teenage girls seated a couple of rows back. About 7 minutes into the movie they got up and left. I nudged my date and whispered, "Apparently they didn't realize it was a math move."

   Apr-12-06 O Trompowsky vs J Nielsen, 1936 (replies)

Insightful: <Alex S.> 24...Kxh7 25.Qh5+ Kg8 26.Qg6+ Bg7 27.Qf7+ Kh7 28.Kd2 preparing for 29.Rh1+ followed quickly by mate.

Apr-08-06 Nisipeanu vs Topalov, 2006 (replies)

Insightful: But if 23...Rxa5 24.Rxa5 Bc3+ 25.Ke2 Bxa5 26.Ra1 Doesn't black loses the bishop or the rook?

   Mar-30-06 S Kuemin vs R Staechelin, 2005 (replies)

Insightful: I got this one, but for a while I was concerned about the 18...Nxc7, preventing the mate, but at the expense of the Queen.

   Mar-05-06 R Cardoso vs Ivkov, 1973 (replies)

Insightful: <HelaNubo: After 28....Rxd3 29. Rxd3 Qf4+ the white king can move to e2 without losing the piece: 30. Ke2 Qxf1+ 31. Rxf1 and white is up an exchange.> What about 30.Ke2 Qh2+ 31.Qf2 Qxf2+ 32.Kxf2 Rxd3 and black is up a piece.

Nov-28-05 Van Wely vs C Hansen, 1992 (replies)

Insightful: <who> If 41 ..Rb1, then 42.Qxe4+ Qxe4 43.Rxb1 and blacks mate threats are gone and he can't prevent the pawn on a7 from promoting.

   Sep-08-05 F Zita vs Bronstein, 1957 (replies)

Insightful: I saw that I wanted the pawn on c5 before unleashing the uncovered check, but it seemed that white had a number of possible responses. Still, it didn't occur to me to move the pawn to c5 via c6 to get the needed tempo.
