Jamespawn: lamont: The quote of the day for Sept. 13th was a quote by Fisher that said " Just because someone was the World Champion for a long time does not mean they were a good player". This is my paraphrase , but its pretty close. Benzol says this quote is about Lasker which is hard to ...
   Sep-10-05 Aron Nimzowitsch (replies)
Jamespawn: I guess Nimzo couldn`t raise the money and therefore could not get a match with Capa , but what about Alekhine? Didn`t he play people for less than the $10,000 he required of Capa?

Jamespawn: Tell us what you said ughaibu. Only don`t use the B word this time.

Aug-18-05 FIDE World Championship Tournament (2005) (replies)
Jamespawn: I thought when Kasim won the championship in Tripoli he was considered the champion. Why then are they having this match? Is Kasim not really the champion?
   Jul-25-05 Wilhelm Steinitz (replies)
Jamespawn: Hey Percy, I`ve read that Lasker was sometimes inactive as champion , but who did he avoid? I`m not doubting your word I`m just curious. I`ve heard Rubinstein was one , but were there others?
