   Feb-23-10 S Horrocks vs G Mancini, 2010 (replies)

Jane Sanders: A question: Why is this game in the database? I was reading the rules for game inclusion last week and it said that one of the players had to be at least 2200 Elo for a game to be included.

Feb-20-10 Tseshkovsky vs Alburt, 1976 (replies)

Jane Sanders: Hmm. The more I look at the position I think it's a draw after 81...Kh6. I've also looked at bringing my king around to f4, but can't see a win there, either. If white wants a draw, then 81.g4 is the quickest way to get one. (81...Bxg4 82.Rxe4 fe 83.Kxg4).

   Feb-20-10 R Forster vs Kasparov, 2001 (replies)

Jane Sanders: When I played through this game I forgot that Kasparov was black, given how much he dislikes giving his opponents the initiative. Up until about move 30 I was expecting White to crash through at any second. It was only after 31...Be3 that I realised my mistake!

Feb-17-10 Tal vs Aronin, 1962 (replies)

Jane Sanders: The simple 18.Bxc6 dc 19.Nc4 looks like it might give a safe edge. That's certainly what I would play. Not really in Tal's style, though.

   Feb-14-10 Z Gofshtein vs Tseitlin, 1991 (replies)

Jane Sanders: I went for 18.h6, but certainly can't claim to have seen all the variations.

   Feb-13-10 K V Shantharam vs Kaidanov, 1991 (replies)

Jane Sanders: My solution followed the game line - a miss.

   Feb-10-10 B Garfinkel vs F M Wren, 1933 (replies)

Jane Sanders: Quite a bit easier than yesterday. Great sacrificial attack. Sacrificing pieces willy-nilly like that requires real stones, which clearly I don't have...

   Feb-09-10 D Bojkov vs A Bennett, 2009 (replies)

Jane Sanders: Took me a while to get it - more than two minutes.

   Feb-07-10 J Sloth vs W N Watson, 1991 (replies)

Jane Sanders: I couldn't decide which piece to sacrifice first. I didn't see the bishop sac on move 34, so I decided to sac the bishop first on the basis that the knight would prove to be the better piece later (attacks attacks the pawns on g4 and e4). So: 30...Bxg4 31.hg Rh8+ 32.Bh3 ...

Feb-05-10 Fine vs Keres, 1938 (replies)

Jane Sanders: I got the first three moves, but went for 52.Be5.
