   Apr-19-25 Geller vs Fischer, 1962

Jyrki: Keres commented Bobby´s performance generally in the tournament. He told : "I do not know if Bobby agrees with me,but in my opinion his placement (4th after three soviets-my comment) corresponds his playing strength." Keres continued : "in Bobby´s games his opponents, including I, ...

Jyrki: Bobby´s second move 2.f4 suprises me. At first sight is looks very dangerous. It opens e1-h4 -diagonal to possible black Queen attack in future. In another hand Bobby was #1 in world at that moment. If world´s strongest GM moves such a move, did he have good reason for that ? Maybe ...

   Sep-05-24 J Bellon Lopez vs Larsen, 1976

Jyrki: It is quite rare to see Larsen mated. Of course 42...Rd3? is terrible error . Bent got immediately punished for that. Can we learn something from this game? At least we see that even super-GM:s are humans, even they can mistake. :)

   Jan-06-23 M Illescas vs Sadler, 1995 (replies)

Jyrki: @BobCrisp : I agree with Baburin. According to stockfish, white should have played 10.Na4. Knight on a4 protects white Queen. Well, Cordoba did not find best moves over the board. I wonder: did Sadler set a trap when moving 6...Na5 ? Jyrki

Dec-06-22 Larsen vs Fischer, 1962 (replies)

Jyrki: In this game Bobby won. But,like all people, he was a human being. In Santa Monica he lost game to Larsen. He made a mistake in that game,Larsen took advantage of it and won their game.Larsen may have played more draws with Bobby, but Larsen didn´t like draws. That is one reason why ...

Dec-04-22 Fischer vs Keres, 1962 (replies)

Jyrki: According chessmetrics, Petrosian was best player in world in 1961-63.Petrosian was progressing from year to year, and finally he reached #1 in 1961. I agree with Keres when he commented Curaco :"I don´t know if Bobby agrees with me,but in my opinion his placement (4th place) ...

   Dec-04-22 Stockholm Interzonal (1962) (replies)

Jyrki: To todicav : Like someone commented, in 1962 Petrosian,Keres and Geller had much more experience about top level chess than Bobby. If we look chessmetrics, Petrosian was best player in world in 1961-63.Petrosian was progressing from year to year, and finally he reached #1 in 1961.So it ...
