Messiah: I wonder if they fixed this game, too.

Messiah: Maybe Donald really needed the point, so they agreed on it.

Messiah: <macer75: <karik: This game is an unfortunate accident in the otherwise clean record between these players.> Yeah, this was pretty rude by Radjabov.> Probably even this game was fixed.

Messiah: Finally a nice draw, that does not seem to be fixed at all.

Messiah: Pathetic, result fixing jerks. All my curses on them!

   Jun-12-21 Mamedyarov vs Radjabov, 2014

Messiah: Pathetic, disgusting resultfixers. They should be banned from competitive chess forever.

Messiah: Fixing all the games... Pathetic!

I think it will be a tribute site for the current World Champion.

<Diademas>

That does sound tasty!

Will the tribute include Norwegian delicacies such as Pinnekjøtt and Gløgg?

  Messiah: Maybe I will construct puzzles and post'em. I'm afraid I lack the creativity to open a completely new theatre in expressing my dissatisfaction regarding the current FIDE No#1.

  Messiah: <PUZZLE TIME>

OK I created a puzzle. It is terrible, but if there is a 0.0000000000000001% chance that the next Karpov starts his or her career because of this puzzle, then its existence is already justified.

In the following position:

White is obviously winning, actually it is a mate-in-6. Your task is to identify (without computer assistance) the number of possible variations for this checkmate to be delivered, e.g. 1.Nxd6 and 1.cxd7 are both mates-in-6, but they count as separate variations. Obviously, there are subvariations, for example, after 1.Nxd6 there are 8 Black moves that are mates-in-5, leading to (at least) 8 separate variations in this line. Transpositions and differently ordered moves also count as separate variations.

<Question 1>: Is the sum of separate variations over 70?

<Question 2>: Is there a variation where the Black king is on a5 when getting checkmated?

Calm down, m8, it seems I'm into you with a year of CG Premium Membership (but it is not dead certain yet). This should do the job.

  beatgiant: Can you publish here a list of all the nicknames you've got for top players?

So far, I understand the following:

Justin = Carlsen (Justin Beiber)
Donald = Radjabov (?)
Resultfixer = Mamedyarov (prearranged games)
Putinist = Karjakin (politics)
Angry = Firouzja (temper)

Which others are you using? Also, why call Radjabov Donald? I have seen some of his press conferences and he sounds nothing like Donald Duck or that other guy.

Dear <beatgiant>, thank you for the question. The list lacks just one important member, the Bill Kaulitz of chess, Ian Nepomniachtchi. Radjabov's way of chess life resembles to Trump's way, and this striking similarity makes me wonder if they are the same in the deep.

If necessary, I will request a new field on the player pages, <Messiah's naming convention>, and let it populated by the admins.

  Check It Out: I realized that <Messiah> could actually be a joke handle created by you guessed it...<Magnus Carlsen>!

It makes total sense: Magnus is a fan of funny usernames, (Magzy Bogues, DannyTheDonkey, ad nauseum); he has a wicked sense of ironic humor, so lambasting his own games and personality all over this website would be right in line with that; and <Messiah> has shown a strong knowledge of chess and reviews many games.

Happy to have you on board CG, <Magnus>! I mean Messiah! Sorry to blow your secret.

This one seems to be Schrödinger's Conspiracy Theory, as it is simultaneously <Terrible!> and <Excellent!>. Good job, very well done!
