Milo: There's a quote on Bash of some guy saying that he's going to learn assembly as his first language because it's simpler than C, and has "short words". BASIC was the first language I learned, and it is much harder than C. My advice is that you learn C, C++, or Java before trying ...

Milo: Your diagram for section E has the g2 bishop and f2 pawn reversed?

Milo: If b5 is such a good move, then we should play it before he does. My vote is for 34...b5 ;)

   Apr-19-07 Fritz vs E F Pecci, 2001 (replies)

Milo: The year was 2001.

Milo: Why would anyone cheat on the daily puzzle? I mean, if someone wanted to do that sort of thing, they could just post "I got it" after every puzzle and not even worry about using a computer to find the solution.

Jan-19-07 Kramnik vs Anand, 2007 (replies)

Milo: Anand doesn't really choke as much as people claim. If he has trouble in key situations against the very best players, that is because everyone does. Losing matches to Kasparov, for instance, is not a sign of weakness.

Milo: They are all true. Sneaky isn't sneaky enough to lie.

   Jan-17-07 Viswanathan Anand (replies)

Milo: positionalgenius's objection was not one of scale but one of kind. Anand is not known as a drawing master, and Radja is not know as a reckless attacker. Leko vs. Morozevitch would be an "immovable object" against an "irresistible force" (although Morozevitch is hardly "irresistible".)

Milo: <America still has major crime / racial desintegration / lack of jobs / etc to take care of.> My understanding is that America has far less racism and unemployment than most Western European nations, although I'm not sure how it compares to the Scandinavian states in particular.
