Nepa Pugna: Both are outstanding combatants and will provide some memorable moments.

Jun-14-08 Nisipeanu vs Carlsen, 2008 (replies)

Nepa Pugna: Though Carlsen has black I'll be hoping he'll bring home the point.

Nepa Pugna: I'll be cheering on Magnus even with Black. Hopefully he'll bring home the point

Nepa Pugna: I've enjoyed watching Carlsen play since his skill first came to light. One concern is at his early age would he eventually be subject to "chess burnout."

May-09-08 Aronian vs Topalov, 2008 (replies)

Nepa Pugna: Topalov's 45th move Nf1+ was a pretty one. Move 46 Nxd2 (capturing the white Queen) was even prettier. It looks like icing on the cake for black after picking off the remaining of white's pawns on both sides of the board.

Nepa Pugna: Malthrope, as always your links in the User Profile is most appreciated. Thank You.

Nepa Pugna: Congratulations to Anand! I was hoping for the kid (Carlsen) to win this tournament but he nailed second place outstanding. As for the posts regarding the American player Nakamura I can only add this: though he's not considered an elite player like Kramnik, Anand, Topalov and the

Nepa Pugna: I'm compelled to reply on this. <acirce: A game like this is considerably more interesting than no game at all. Why would a chess fan "hate" a well-played game of chess between two of the world's best players?> To which I reply ditto. And <The Chess Express There should ...

Feb-20-08 Topalov vs Carlsen, 2008 (replies)

Nepa Pugna: I have to agree with the posts. Why tip off a future opponent now with your whole arsenal when you have to face him later this year? Especially if your going down tournament road to Kamsky, Kramnik and/or Anand.

Feb-19-08 Shirov vs Topalov, 2008 (replies)

Nepa Pugna: I'm not sure but maybe a pawn advance to c4?
