I'm from England and am a novice at chess. I have played for many years but very casual. I have no concept of forward planning and know that is the key to improving my game. I am currently playing games of a 650 ELO rating.

NitramBackwards: Thanks for the encouragement <johnlspouge> But what I really wanted to know was if everyone else plays to attack the king if all other pieces are protected? Do they not simply move their own peices into other positions? Or is that just classed as losing momentum...

NitramBackwards: <johnlspouge> I thought it was something you quoted. (",) So is 25.Be4 Bxe4 a terrible move for black to make? It still strikes a killing blow doesn't it?

NitramBackwards: < Samagonka: Isn't Bxf7 just as effective to set the ball rolling?!> I don't think it is because: 20.Bxf7 Qxf7 21.Rxf7 Rxe3 This leaves white out of pocket imo.

NitramBackwards: ha ha ha, guess I'll come back Monday. (",) Although I do see the cleverness of the move and the following sequence, I'm not near the level of play to have thought of it myself. Might as well say Hi to all as first post also!
