Feb-03-16 Euwe vs Alekhine, 1935
|
Old Woodpusher: I am not really sure why - perhaps it is the barrage of central pawns bearing down on Alekhine's king, or maybe the depth of Euwe's strategy - which are variations on a theme anyway - but this has always been one of my favourite games. I don't know how many times I have ... |

Old Woodpusher: Dear All,

Dec-08-06 Keres vs W Winter, 1935
|
Old Woodpusher: I read the bio. page on William Winter, & it confirmed some detail I had read on him in a 1970's copy of Chess magazine.
Didn't know that he had been imprisoned though.
Does anyone know of any other biographical information on him ?
Thanks. |
