| Pendom: Caruana gained 17.3 points from the HZ Open. He also (previously) gained 11.7 from the Capo D'Orso and (from my calculations) 7.4 in the EU Champs and 9.1 in the July First Saturday. In the july list he was 2549, so he should be going to 2595 in the august list. On the FIDE website ... |

| Pendom: Why is everyone saying this game is so great? Hector made a really unsound sacrifice, after which he is (on a higher level) losing. Negi managed to ruin it all, until it was just drawn. Hector badly misplayed the ending - almost until the end the draw was in sight. |

| Pendom: Black did not play 15...Nxf6 but rather 15...Rxf6, after which the ending should make sense. If he had played 15...Nxf6 White can simply win a piece: 16.Nxf6 Bxf6 17.Qxd8 Rxd8 18.Rxd8 Bxd8 19.Bxd8, etc. |
