PierreTheLion has kibitzed 16 times to chessgames   [more...]
   Jan-15-12 C Schulz vs U Gass, 1972 (replies)
PierreTheLion: @ Once: You're still my favorite Bond villain. "Do you expect me to accept (the sac)?" "No Mr. Bond...I expect you to RESIGN!"
   Nov-24-10 Topalov vs M Lodhi, 2010 (replies)
PierreTheLion: @Once Mutterings?! Your kibitzing is half of the reason I play through these puzzles! We have a rather eloquent expression stateside about "Mutterings", one worthy of the Bard: "haterz gon hate." If all I wanted was potential lines for these games, I'd plug the position into ...
   Oct-26-10 A Eisenbeiser vs K Berg, 2007 (replies)
PierreTheLion: If there are any Simpsons fan on the kibbitz 17. Bxf7+ was McBain busting out of the ice sculpture and shooting up Mendoza's dinner party: "Eis to see you"
   Oct-13-10 E Sobernheim vs S A Langleben, 1895 (replies)
PierreTheLion: @Once: Couldn't agree more! I love the (lack of) reactions I get when I post GOTD's on facebook. I'm thinking to myself: you don't understand! this is more beautiful than anything you will see today! "Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old" -Kafka
   Sep-05-10 Keene vs H Ardiansyah, 1979 (replies)
PierreTheLion: Mr. Keene, did you realize the sociological implications of 13.Ra2 over the board or did it come up in analysis? Wonderful game and annotations as always Mr. Keene.
   Aug-30-10 Short vs S Wagman, 1986 (replies)
PierreTheLion: I don't have a fancy analysis tool, or talent, but is 21...Re6 any good? After 22.Qh4 ...g5 it looks like it only loses the bishop, and prevents mate but I'm patzeriffic. Either way black's queen is woeful on a5, even I can see that.
   Aug-27-10 P Popovic vs Marjanovic, 1979 (replies)
PierreTheLion: xrt999's line has those queenside pawns looking interesting, but this is not a "puzzle" as we're typically used to, wherein forced mates exist.
   Aug-18-10 H H Hernandez vs Gulko, 2008 (replies)
PierreTheLion: I am so excited about this game, for purely selfish reasons. 32. Kb3 was the move that stood out for me, and I'm ecstatic to see the indomitable Once talk about it, it makes me feel like I'm starting to see more nuances. <--1250 rating.
   Aug-16-10 Taimanov vs R Persitz, 1955 (replies)
PierreTheLion: @cuppajoe, lol I did the exact same thing, I couldn't see past the royal fork winning the queen to the fact that it also wins the king
Jun-09-10 Fischer vs Spassky, 1972 (replies)
PierreTheLion: Wouldn't it be great to have such a reputation that you can play 1. c4!
