   Aug-23-22 J Marsalek vs M Ujtelky, 1960 (replies)

Rip2632: Ujtelky liked fianchettoed bishops. His knights reposition from the edge into the center and then a couple surprising sacrifices. 27.Qd4? wasn't helpful.

Rip2632: My post on Kibitzer Cafe was deleted. They put me on RESTICTED KIBITZING for commenting about knight maneuvers -- no reason to do that. After the deletion, perfidious posted this: <Aug-21-22 perfidious: <fredthebore.....Users have presented clear evidence that perfidious is ...

   Aug-20-22 W Heidenfeld vs T van Scheltinga, 1963 (replies)

Rip2632: A strange start. A 2.c3 Alapin Sicilian becomes the Hippopotamos. White has space but drops pawns. 22..Nf5 sits four knights next to each other! The Nb1 went a long way for nothing. White could win the ending by sending the h-pawn. Let us see if my post is blocked again.

   Aug-18-22 Kramnik vs Dreev, 2005

Rip2632: Now I will be put back on restricted kibitzing for the honest post above so do not expect any replies from me. That's how this website works. BTW if the game had continued White would play 22.Rd1 to protect the pawn.

Aug-18-22 Ivanchuk vs Karpov, 1993 (replies)

Rip2632: Karpov has played 80 games of B12. He's good at it.

Aug-17-22 Marshall vs Rubinstein, 1908 (replies)

Rip2632: Good story. It turned out well for Sinatra. “Saloons are not run by the Christian Brotherhood,” Sinatra hedged in later life. They were playing something other than chess.

Aug-16-22 Giri vs Carlsen, 2022 (replies)

Rip2632: See the ad for BURNZAY? Very comfy. 28.d5?

   Aug-16-22 Razuvaev vs L Christiansen, 1989

Rip2632: Clear!

   Aug-16-22 S Buecker vs T Vogler, 1997

Rip2632: Plenty of gambits in Bird's Opening but From's Gambit variations seem most popular: Bird's Opening From's Gambit – A02 – 1.f4 e5 From's Gambit, Bahr Gambit – A02 – 1.f4 e5 2.Nc3 From's Gambit, Lipke Variation – A02 – 1.f4 e5 2.fxe5 d6 3.exd6 Bxd6 4.Nf3 Nh6 5.d4 From's ...

   Aug-14-22 Kenneth Rogoff (replies)

Rip2632: Do you mean Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy? They are losing to the Broncos right now. Maybe I will check that out.
