TORRIDON: Isn't 27. Nc7 even quicker mate? It covers e8 usefully.

Dec-30-15 Carlsen vs Aronian, 2015 (replies)

TORRIDON: Can't Black survive a bit longer with 47. ... Qd8?

   Dec-04-15 G Dizdar vs Gligoric, 1982 (replies)

TORRIDON: 49. h6 seems like a good idea!

   Sep-14-14 Shirov vs J Piket, 1995 (replies)

TORRIDON: I agree with patzer2 - it doesn't seem anything like insanely difficult. 28. Rf7:+, Kg8 29. Qf2, Qf7: 20. Rg3+, Kf8 31. Rf3 also wins though not as easily as Shirov's method. patzer2 has posted another contribution, but really without analysing one feels White must be winning here ...

   Sep-12-14 D Mackle vs G Jones, 2013 (replies)

TORRIDON: Why not 10. Bxf4. After exf White has a strong pawn centre, surely compensation for Black's bishops. The N on f4 proved very strong, so worth getting rid of.

   Apr-21-14 Ftacnik vs S Kyriakides, 1984 (replies)

TORRIDON: Why cannot Black play on with 37. ... Ra8?
