58 YO, former rated player (1450). Have not played tournament chess for over 20 years.

I like Alekhine because he is one of the few great player's whose ideas I sometimes understand, just playing through his games.

I like Bobby Fischer because he was in his prime and generating a LOT of excitement in the chess world while I was just starting to play chess somewhat seriously.

My current goal is to learn more about computer chess and perhaps begin playing some correspondence chess.

I am a computer software analyst by day, and a proud Grandpa ALL the time ...

TTLump: is this where we discuss anlaysis, opening lines, specific move strategy, etc. and then vote for the moves? If so, how does that differ from <the Alchemist> forum?

TTLump: <Brankat> I think it might be helpful if we had a more concise explanation of the purpose, rules, etc. for using the three different forums that you list in the profile. I for one, am not sure what we would actually discuss in THIS forum, since we already have two other forums ...

TTLump: <TheAlchemist: <TTLump> It would probably be best to just continue developing with 4...Bg7, and treating it like a normal Leningrad (with O-O, d6, c6, Nc6, Qe8, Nbd7, you have many options) with an extra tempo, which can't be that bad :-)> that makes me feel pretty good, ...

TTLump: Wow! I go on vacation for a week and what do I find on my return?! Congrats to the World Team, especially those who spent hours, days, weeks, (months?) analyzing positions, organizing the fora, keeping the peace, and ensuring a credible result on behalf of us all. This has been an ...

TTLump: slightly off topic, but has anyone else here ever used or still use Chess Genius Classic 7.138R ? I have not used Rybka or Fritz, so I have no way to compare it against these. Does anyone know of any site where chess engines are compared/compete with each other, etc?
