TerryMills: What's wrong with 20. Bxe4?

TerryMills: It seems clear that Black was a much better player than White.

   Dec-29-19 T Florian vs Benko, 1945 (replies)

TerryMills: I read this game in the book by Benko and Silman mentioned above. The book is excellent; well written, a pleasure to read - unusual for a chess book. I admire the way that Benko simply pushes his opponent's king to a place where he cannot disrupt Benko's pawn majority. Beautiful.

   Dec-27-19 S Rosenthal vs Steinitz, 1873 (replies)

TerryMills: Was Black's dark squared bishop all that useful?

   Dec-01-19 A Meek vs Morphy, 1855 (replies)

TerryMills: I would not have thought of 19...Bh3; pretty clever.

   Aug-28-19 Kutsenok vs Akimov, 1954

TerryMills: According to P.H. Clarke (100 Soviet Chess Miniatures) it should be 6. O-O d5 7. Bb3 Nc6 8. d4 g5 9. h3 h5 et cetera

   Apr-10-19 S Dubois vs Steinitz, 1862 (replies)

TerryMills: It's OK; I worked it out; in game 10 of his book, Reti seems to have changed the order of the moves 3-5.

Sep-03-17 Tal vs Suetin, 1969 (replies)

TerryMills: What would happen after 21 ..Kd7?

Jun-19-17 Reti vs Rubinstein, 1923 (replies)

TerryMills: Would 4.. dxc4 have been better for Black than 4..d4 ?

Jan-24-17 Petrosian vs Spassky, 1966 (replies)

TerryMills: A beautiful game. Often I have played through a game of Petrosian and said to myself "I could have done that"; he makes it look so easy.
