Jan-24-14 Bill Gates vs Carlsen, 2014 (replies)

Xeeniner: What is Black's response to 9. Re1?

Jul-30-08 The World vs G Timmerman, 2007 (replies)

Xeeniner: <Waitaka> I think the debate's whether to go with Rxh5 and a quicker mate or Rxa5 and a quicker entry into a tablebase win.

Apr-07-08 Morphy vs NN, 1848 (replies)

Xeeniner: Doesn't 4. ...Bxf2+ 5. Kxf2 Qh4+ offer black the advantage?

Jan-23-08 Eljanov vs Van Wely, 2008

Xeeniner: Thanks for the input <Eyal> and <gangstaman>. Also thanks for the link to the tablebase. It's pretty crazy they can come up with that sort of thing.

Jan-23-08 Van Wely vs Carlsen, 2008 (replies)

Xeeniner: <Mateo> You're right. My fault on that one.

   Jan-20-08 Kmoch vs T Ellison, 1948 (replies)

Xeeniner: Never mind. The queen's defending the bishop.

   Jan-16-08 I Cheparinov vs Nepomniachtchi, 2008 (replies)

Xeeniner: <DDR> I don't know. 11. ...Nxg3 12. fxg3, potentially followed up by Bh4. White has a lot of pressure on the kingside, particularly on f7.

   Jan-02-08 J Isaev vs A Montalvo, 2004 (replies)

Xeeniner: Probably because 44. ...Qxc3+ 45. Qxc3 Rxc3 46. b7 and the pawn promotes.

Xeeniner: If anyone cares to look at this, here's a line I've been working on: 22. Nb6 Ra6 23. Nxd7 Rxd7 24. Ne5 Rd6 25. a4 Na7/c7 26. Bxe4 fxe4 27. Rc5. White threatens to play Nc4, using the pin along the d-file. There's pressure against both the a- and c-pawns. I don't know if 22. Nb6 Ra6

Sep-16-07 World Championship Tournament (2007) (replies)

Xeeniner: was anand doing those repetitions to reach time control?
