   Jun-25-04 M Richardson vs Nakamura, 2002 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: jmcd2002: the point is after 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd 3. Nf3 a6 4. Nxd4 e5! is good. Since Nb5 isn't possible. Look up what white should do after 1. e5 c5 2. Nf3 a6, I'll give you hint: it isn't 3. d4, since this has been known forever. I think it's called a boleslavsky sicilian.

Jun-25-04 Dreev vs Sakaev, 2004 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: I'd guess they both had under 20 seconds when those moves where played. I'm pretty sure Sakeav lost on time, so that gives you an indication... I remember a game Anand lost on time because he was queening a pawn and had to reach all the way across the board for the queen, ...

Jun-25-04 Ivanchuk vs Kasimdzhanov, 2004 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: I was told there was some type of controversy at the site, where his opponent was protesting about something, and he just resigned instead of having to deal with it.

   Jun-21-04 Nakamura vs A Aleksandrov, 2004 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: I think Aleksandrov just tried to win too hard in the blitz at the very end. He had several clear draws he rejected for unclear continuations.

   Jun-13-04 B Molinari vs L Roux Cabral, 1943 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: This is a wonderful game! Fritz also found 28. ... Nxf2 instead of Bc5, which is also winning for black. eg. Kxf2 Qh4+ Ke3 Bc5+ Kd2 Qxf4+ Kd1 Nxc4! Ra2 Ne3+ with mate to follow very soon, or Qxf2 Qxh3 Qh2 Bc5+ and mate, or Bxf3 Nxh3+ Kh2 Nxf3+ Kg3 Nxf4 Kxf4 Nd2! Qg2 Qh6+ and

   Jun-11-04 NN vs B Pandolfini, 1967 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: You should really be comparing Alexandre Lesiege and Josh Waitzkin. Alexandre is the same age as Josh (+/- a year probably), and played in all the same (International) Junior events he did. And crushed him most of the time.

   Jun-08-04 K Georgiev vs J Chabanon, 2001 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: Look at the event: "26th Speed Chess Open 2001" Does that answer your question? They knew it SHOULD be drawn. But you can still try to flag black.

   Jun-08-04 P Charbonneau vs M Pavlovic, 2004 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: I think it's more complicated than that. White plays dxc a lot in these types of positions. It looks like white didn't appreciate the strength of Qg3! Maybe Pascal missed Rxc3 following it up with a double exchange sac threat on f3? Maybe he also missed that Nxe5 was ...

   May-25-04 J Kenney vs H Y Wang, 2001

aboynamedgeorge: Yes, you found the right place! I was very nervous at that point in the game, black had very little time left, and there was a crowd (almost 30 people!) around the board, including the late, great, GM Tony Miles. I knew immediately when I had blown it with dxe, since the ...

Feb-11-04 Short vs Harikrishna, 2004 (replies)

aboynamedgeorge: Well, instead of e4?? at the very end, black would have played something else, Kf3 looks plausible. I don't see a winning plan for white, as his king isn't able to activate. Maybe it's possible to win, but I doubt it.
