Nov-21-06 Mamedyarov vs Kharlov, 2006 (replies)

aerohacedor: NxF7 for the win!

   Mar-17-06 T Reilly vs G West, 1995 (replies)

aerohacedor: I'm mildly surprised by the name of this combination: Nescafe Frappe Attack. Can anyone enlighten me on how it came to be called that?

   Feb-20-06 A Bisguier vs J Penrose, 1950 (replies)

aerohacedor: Great finish.

   Feb-20-06 A Wojtkiewicz vs Ftacnik, 1993 (replies)

aerohacedor: That's some bad chess playing by the white.

   Jan-30-06 Lagno vs S Shepeleva, 2001 (replies)

aerohacedor: Now, this was easy. Smash the queen into the pawn and voila. Queen sacrifice is a running motif of Monday's puzzles. :-)

   Jan-26-06 Bird vs E Schallopp, 1885

aerohacedor: The black queen was quite active in the beginning of the game. If I had played this opening, i'd be more cautious probably.

Jan-21-06 Napoleon Bonaparte vs The Turk, 1809 (replies)

aerohacedor: Napoleon, true to his reputation, fought back even after it became clear that he was defeated.

   Jan-17-06 E Kengis vs Kasparov, 1973 (replies)

aerohacedor: Is 25 Qf6 a mistake? Wouldn't it be better if Kengis moved h7+ instead? It doesn't seem like the king has anywhere to go after being checked by the pawn, which is protected by the rook and queen.

Jan-07-06 Krasenkow vs Sveshnikov, 1992 (replies)

aerohacedor: <patzer2> Thanks for posting all those variations. The last puzzle in my opinion can be solved by 24. Nf7 Qf7 25. Qe5+ Qg7 26. Qg7+

Jan-05-06 Ivanchuk vs Kasparov, 1994 (replies)

aerohacedor: Had Ivanchuck played 14. Ne7 instead of b4, it would have been an easy mate.
