I am a life master. My max rating was close to 2400. I live in New York and am trying to keep up with the action.

   Aug-22-10 Svidler vs D Howell, 2010 (replies)

alwilliams: I might be missing something really obvious but after 53 e5 Rh6 does'nt White have 54 h8 Q+! Rh8 (forced) 55 e6. How does Black stop mate on f7?

   May-07-10 V Saulina vs O Iljushina, 2010 (replies)

alwilliams: Aggressive attack by Repina but does'nt 36 Qe7 end the contest?

   Jun-08-09 A Williams vs J Bonin, 1979 (replies)

alwilliams: Thanks chessgames.com for making this necessary correction, it's well appreciated.

Jun-02-09 Wang Xiaohui vs Ding Yixin, 2009

alwilliams: Yes sharkw, 30Bf2 does preserve a material advantage but after 30...Ra8! the situation is far from clear.

alwilliams: in the game continuation after 38...Bf7 39.Qf7! finishes faster.

Mar-03-09 Dominguez Perez vs Aronian, 2009 (replies)

alwilliams: Do you think the wild rook finish to a drawn endgame was a GM joke?

   Dec-28-08 A Williams vs E Schiller, 1979

alwilliams: I think 27g4 followed by Nh6,Nf5,and advancing the h pawn is very strong, Of course black can generate some counterplay, but by disallowing the rook to reach the 7th rank it seems white has the superior position.

alwilliams: Unfortunately I never player Kasparov, my last rated game was in 1987! This is probably a confusion with A.H.Williams.

Oct-30-08 Ivanchuk vs Radjabov, 2008 (replies)

alwilliams: I guess Ivanchuk missed 33Rh7. Same result but with beauty!
