   Jan-01-23 Smyslov vs W Addison, 1970

beugi19: Smyslov "missed" a study-like win: 38 f4!! Qe2+ 39. Kg5 Be3 40. h3!!!! and Black cannot avoid Kg6 and Qxg8+ with mate! Too bad the text also wins convincingly...

   Dec-28-22 Lasker vs Hasselblatt, 1909

beugi19: Interesting game. 28...Rb5 is an instant win which will have haunted Hasselblatt for time to come... On the other hand, Lasker's attack would have been faster had he chosen 27. Bg6!!

   Sep-01-22 A Gershon vs T Thorhallsson, 1999

beugi19: Friday-level puzzle after 56.h3.

   May-16-21 M Cebalo vs Anand, 2003

beugi19: How to ruin a better position in two moves... I guess we've all been there.

   May-15-21 B Kurajica vs Spassky, 1974

beugi19: Kudos to Kurajica. He plays against the former WC, gets a slightly worse position and is hit by the bolt 23..Bh3!!, but keeps calm and still manages a draw!

   May-01-21 Petrosian vs A Reshko, 1967

beugi19: More of a great swindle than a superb game... By move 25, Black is clearly winning. 26. e5!? is a great try, and it is immediately rewarded via Bxf3?? Reshko probably missed White's 28th. After Qxc8, White probably still had no advantage, but the psychological turnaround was enough ...

Feb-08-21 Charousek vs Lasker, 1896 (replies)

beugi19: <Reszoe> Stockfish found 17. Nd5!! killing off Tarrasch's idea. Eg cxd5 18. Bxd5 Ne7 19. Qxa7 Nxd5 20. Qa8+ Nb8 21. Qxb8+ Kd7 22.Qxb7+ Nc7 23. Qxc7+ Ke8 24. Qe5+ Qxe5 25. Bxe5, with a won endgame due to three connected passed Pawns

   Jan-27-21 A Korobov vs A Mithil, 2018 (replies)

beugi19: Nothing to add, got Ne6 and the answers to Nxe6 and Ne5 right, missed the Re7 defense. Plus, this is the only Korobov game from this event in the database, weird... or is there some mistake?

   Jan-21-21 Shimanov vs A Vovk, 2011 (replies)

beugi19: Yes, I think that without the Qf4+ resource this problem would be Saturday level. Qg7!! is crazy hard to spot.

   Jan-20-21 Y Zilberman vs Sutovsky, 1994 (replies)

beugi19: Well, after the correct 29.f3 (instead of Qb8+??) Black must go into the winning endgame already mentioned.
