Sep-06-03 S Polgar vs Endrody, 1977
cheelay: After 21.Rxf6, if Kxf6 then what?
I'm thinking 22.Qh6 threatening both Rf1# and Nh5#. Then I imagine black would play 22...Nxd5 providing an escape square for his king. But after that it gets too muddy for me to tell who's winning. Is there a more efficient move than 22.Qh6 in this |

Jul-09-03 G Rohit vs J Jirka, 2003
cheelay: What a wonderful move to finish the game! It's the king's victory procession...With his first step he announces to one and all that the battle has already been won. Very cinematic. :-) |

Jun-21-03 E Canal vs Horvath, 1934
cheelay: I'm wondering if these positions are ever overlooked in high-level games. It seems easier to find the win when it's presented as a problem, but maybe at the board a tactic like this wouldn't be as apparent. |

Jun-17-03 Alekhine vs Flohr, 1931
cheelay: Could Alekhine have done this one move earlier on move 28? I kind of like to think that the move dawned on him after playing 28.e5 and he was sitting there hoping Flohr wouldn't do something to mess it up. :) |
