   Jul-11-03 Morphy vs J Schulten, 1857 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: morphy fan....morphy did not lack in defence tactics,if your good at tactics your good at tactics and morphy is well respected by top grandmasters in the art of swindling even fischer said he admire`s morphys play in losing positions coz he always can fight back.

Jul-11-03 Capablanca vs Janowski, 1916 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: checks dont save the game, capa prob would have played kf3 or Bd2 in reply to a check.there wont be much change in the position except the rook will be on a2 insted of a3 which allows ral trying to exchange rooks then if black was to play rb2 white would play rcbl and now ...

   Jul-09-03 R Raubitschek vs Capablanca, 1906 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: who cares about getting into opening debates on the kings gambit.the thing that interested me was capa`s excellent attacking technique,he used whites queen to gain a few tempos in the process aiming for g2 as a focal point of attack,it was almost as sexy as kournikova!

Jul-08-03 Fischer vs Tal, 1961 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: in my above variaition if black plays 22...b6 23 rhe1 and say for example 23...ra3 then white has a sexy rook sac on e6! theres gonner be a killer rook sac coming sooner rather than later!!!! wp fischer

chessaintforwimps: personally i think the position looks shakey for black after move 20..a5 creating a backward B pawn.but looking at the position there is no clear plan for black reti has restrained ruby with great skill, his 2 rooks and Queen are better placed than there counter parts.he ...

Jul-01-03 Tal vs Petrosian, 1974 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: I agree with wilfie.petrosian opted for a semi open position in that game.and maybe didnt know the tal attack was coming, but maybe he deteriated slightly as a player after fischer beat him,i read a spassky comment that him petrosian and taiminov deteriated as players after

   Jun-30-03 J Corzo vs Capablanca, 1901 (replies)

chessaintforwimps: foolish opening, this was of the most common of that time, why should we change our rep when we come up against strong players, its better to play a opening you feel conftable in than to get into a position from an opening you aint comftable in.
