code13: Kasparov never lost a match without having an excuse. He never just said "that guy played better than me today". Probably the best player of all time, but a bad loser.

code13: timhortons, you could look up Navara on the player directory on this site. He is a Czech player and in the "Super GM" bracket.

code13: I have read your latest article at chessville.com about the "national disgrace" of their being no chess on British TV. There was a story a while back about BBC4 working on the possibility of a televised "Anglo-Russian chess league", were you involved in any such discussions? I would ...

Apr-29-07 Leko - Kramnik Rapid Match (2007) (replies)

code13: Was 30..Qf6 not completely winning for Kramnik? Did he offer a draw, having secured the match, just to be nice to his friend??

code13: Although Smyslov has retired from playing, apparently he now composes some fabulous endgames studies. In fact a friend of mine, who is a Problemist FM, told me that an endgame studies expert quipped that it was a pity Smyslov wasted so much time becoming World Champion when he is ...

code13: Official site just jumped from nothing to around move 22 in the Carlsen game.

Feb-06-07 Deep Fritz vs Kramnik, 2006 (replies)

code13: No, he wasn't under time pressure, and he said he didn't feel tired. Just a complete aberration.
