druid: It must be the name thing: Groot, Timmay!, Rooby-rooby-roo, Hulk smash, Cuckoo, etc. Although maybe the "leave" in the clue means to take those who do NOT say their own name.

   Oct-12-12 G Welling vs T Porrasmaa, 2009 (replies)

druid: I saw the position after 51. Kb6 given in a puzzle with black to move. The implication is that black has some way of saving the game at that point, but I just don't see it. Can anyone help?

   Apr-18-11 T Abrahamyan vs S Foisor, 2011

druid: After black's 27th move, every square on the d file is occupied. I wonder how often something like that happens?

Nov-25-08 A Nickel vs The World, 2008 (replies)

druid: It shouldn't be too terribly hard to implement an instant-runoff voting system. Each voter could then vote for an (ordered) list of moves, with their top choice first, their second choice next, and so on. Votes are tallied according to the following algorithm: 1. Look at the first ...

   Mar-21-08 Viewer Deluxe chessforum (replies)

druid: Is there somewhere where I can report a bug? The new viewer doesn't work for me at all (Firefox, Linux), but when I open the Java console, there is a nice stack trace that might be of some interest to the developer. However, the stack trace seems too long to post here.

   Feb-01-08 A Zapata vs J Polgar, 1989 (replies)

druid: Looks like it must have been 26. Qc1.

Jun-10-07 Shulman vs The World, 2007 (replies)

druid: After 39...Qf5 I notice that the main line for White is 40.Kg1, but I don't understand that move. Why does Rybka think Kg1 is necessary?

   Sep-25-06 R Bertholee vs J Polgar, 1990 (replies)

druid: 35... Rb4 is great. Perhaps a Monday puzzle?

Dec-16-03 Spassky vs Korchnoi, 1977 (replies)

druid: Why did black resign while up a pawn? I thought there might be some clever winning line for white, but Crafty (eval -1.19, depth 17 ply, 2500M nodes) can't find it even after several hours of thinking.

Dec-01-03 Browne vs Karpov, 1977 (replies)

druid: The losing move was 35. ♖b8+. Before that, Crafty was suggesting 35. ♕a8+ with an evaluation of +2.26, but after white moved the rook the evaluation immediately dropped to -6.83.
