Jul-24-09 Bogoljubov vs Alekhine, 1929 (replies)

eainca: Talk about nit picking! The game as played is much more elegant than 42.Kc2, Kc8(opposition) 43.Kc3, Kc7 44.Kb4, Kb6 45.Ka3, Ka5 46.Kb2, Kb4 and black, while lost, can drag it out for quite some time (if so inclined).

   Jul-06-09 A Cherniaev vs A Slavin, 2009 (replies)

eainca: Nice. If 34....Qe6, 35.Qh6+ and mate the next move.

Jun-19-09 Nisipeanu vs Kamsky, 2009 (replies)

eainca: This is the main knock on the Italian. Don't want to work, head for a quick draw.

Jun-05-09 Motylev vs Shirov, 2009 (replies)

eainca: I have a feeling that Shirov missed 24 Rg8 when he initiated the sequence with 16...Re8.

   May-20-09 M Gurevich vs R Ovetchkin, 2007 (replies)

eainca: I agree that there seems to be an excess of draws but solutions to the problem is itself problematic. For example, a player who is "lost" manages to pull off a series of moves that lead to a 3 move repetition, should the player who pulls that off not be allowed to draw (or be ...

May-12-09 Radjabov vs Anand, 2009 (replies)

eainca: From the Middle Latin Vitula meaning stringed instument. Piano refers to the name of the instrument Piano/Forte meaning quite/loud, a characteristic of the instrument not in the former Klavichord(?spelling) or Harpsichord.

   Dec-30-07 N Spiridonov vs Tal, 1970 (replies)

eainca: the final deflection with 32....e4 is a gem.

   Dec-21-07 N Kosintseva vs T Kosintseva, 2007 (replies)

eainca: Hot Logic: I think this is their longest draw yet :P I wouldn't necessarily complain - from from one perspective it's a free rest day, but it's also a handicap, because in tournaments it may sometimes help to get more wins, certainly no one can accuse them of throwing games to each ...

Dec-19-07 Russian Championship Superfinal (Women) (2007) (replies)
