   Dec-06-23 J Sherwin vs B Larsen, 1968

edroche1111: An instructive game showing the difference between a top GM (Larsen) and an IM (Sherwin). White is better until 20. Bf3. This allows black to land a Knight on the c4 square which would not have happened after 20.gf3. White's capture 26.ab6 is also inaccurate. Sherwin ...

   Dec-05-23 Browne vs P Brandts, 1968

edroche1111: Browne was showing his prep for this game to everyone in the skittles room. He knew that Brandts always played 2..Bc5 against the King's Gambit. Browne also took on all comers at 5 min for $1/game during the tournament. Also lots of Monopoly was played in this room.

   Dec-05-23 A Saidy vs J Acers, 1968

edroche1111: What is this move 35..Qg2???? crazy bad. Black could have won simply with 34...h6

   Dec-05-23 J Hechtlinger vs S Levine, 1968 (replies)

edroche1111: I won a game from this S Levine in the final round of the US Open and managed to claim a prize. I was in High School at the time.

edroche1111: I played in the US Open in 1969 at Aspen. I beat S. Levine in the last round. Perhaps you can fill that result into the cross table. Thanks- Ed Roche

   Nov-18-21 Fischer vs B Larsen, 1966 (replies)

edroche1111: Williebob - Thanks very much.

Feb-17-21 Karpov vs Spassky, 1974 (replies)

edroche1111: 16.Qg1 is now played and is superior to Nb5. Also 6.g4 (Keres attack) is now the best way.

   Oct-06-20 Paul M Kuroda

edroche1111: I played Paul Kuroda in the 1974 North American open in Stillwater OK. Our game was a draw. He was rated 2300 at that time.
