   May-24-18 Petropolis Interzonal (1973)

gmgomes: Mecking became a kind of National Hero in Brazil after this triumph. Petropolis is known as a Imperial City, just one hour away (by car) from Rio de Janeiro. His win against former world champion Smyslov is a very interesting game.

   Jan-23-17 Henrique Mecking (replies)

gmgomes: Mecking is currently playing at Floripa Chess Open.

Mar-28-16 Karjakin vs Caruana, 2016 (replies)

gmgomes: 19... Ke7 is the expected move. My engine also evaluated the aggressive alternative a5.

Sep-14-15 Mecking vs Tal, 1975 (replies)

gmgomes: <um doutor, fă do Tal, disse que o mago ja tava muito velho... doente... etc...> Tal was in very good shape in 1975 - In April 1975, Chessmetrics rates him as the 3rd in the world - only behind Karpov and Korchnoi.

Aug-24-15 Topalov vs Nakamura, 2015 (replies)

gmgomes: After 50. Bg7, black cannot move the N or the K. Rook is protecting c pawn and the open line - so, I think Re7 threatening the Bishop will be the move.

Mar-19-14 World Chess Championship Candidates (2014) (replies)

gmgomes: Svidler was doing fine, but after 24... h6 he is in trouble.

   Sep-02-13 D Andreikin vs Kramnik, 2013 (replies)

gmgomes: Congrats on Vladimir Kramnik on wining 2013 World Cup!

   Aug-30-13 World Cup (2013) (replies)

gmgomes: The game itself really reminds me Kramink beating Leko in 2004. In Anand x Topalov I remember a game where Topalov was able to get a perpetual in a Q x 2 rooks endgame. Probably this is Andreikin best hope.

Mar-27-13 World Championship Candidates (2013) (replies)

gmgomes: Kramnik wins! 1-0!

Mar-01-13 Caruana vs Gelfand, 2013 (replies)

gmgomes: Caruana's bishop at e1 looks awful, but he is 1 pawn up.
