   Dec-09-22 Znosko-Borovsky vs O Penrose, 1948

holytramp: This game was an unexpected pleasure!! Interesting facts: Oliver Penrose was only 19 here and Eugene Znosko-Borovsky was 64 yrs old; Oliver would soon become an extremely accomplished physicist; also, Oliver's brother was 10-time British chess champion Jonathan Penrose. ...

   Sep-09-22 E Tate vs A J Goldsby, 2010 (replies)

holytramp: Great to see you back here on CG, AJ. I learned a lot from your annotations, comments, and stories via your fun ajschess site back in the day : )

   Nov-24-21 Bachmann vs K Shubin, 2021

holytramp: It seems that there are a much higher volume of strong tactical players today than Tal faced in his day?

   Apr-22-21 W Kluxen vs Capablanca, 1911 (replies)

holytramp: <FSR> Solid pun! Takes me Back-arach...

   Sep-07-19 M Sorokin vs Minasian, 1990

holytramp: Cool game! And of course 23...Rh8xh7 then 24. N2c4 Checkmate!

   May-17-16 H Heinicke vs P A Seitz, 1934 (replies)

holytramp: i think if i were playing white i'd celebrate this game by drinking a nice cold Heinicke.

   Jun-16-11 Glek vs D Bunzmann, 2007 (replies)

holytramp: Pretty easy puzzle, and incidentally, I've always been a buns man myself.

   Jan-07-11 Robatsch vs Larsen, 1956

holytramp: <Phony Benoni> A belated thanks for your response- quite right and I appreciate it. Am back on chessgames and not too proud to continue firing neophyte questions!

   Jan-02-11 Z Vukovic vs D Mozetic, 1991 (replies)

holytramp: Robed.Bishop- 11.Kh1 is not much of a trap as 11...Qg6 ends the threat. If you say 12.Nd6+ wins the black queen you are technically correct but black ultimately wins the exchange with 12...cxd6. 13.Bxg6...fxg6; and black ends up with (2) knights + (1) bishop + (1) pawn as ...

   Dec-27-10 R Camejo Almeida vs J Ye, 1996

holytramp: I have explored the line 11...Nxe5, 12. fxe5...Qxe5, with compelling pressure on white's knight on D4. I've played it out several times and this seems to look very good for black!
