Nov-23-16 Karjakin vs Carlsen, 2016 (replies)

iuventus: Richard Taylor - thanks, enjoyed reading your last posts. I'll check out the Cheever story (looking for something to read). On the topic of feedback loops in the brain, you might know "I am a strange loop" by Hofstadter, which is all about that (although focus is on consciousness ...

Mar-23-16 World Championship Candidates (2016) (replies)

iuventus: Good idea call14, I say we recommend Topa to replace Anand (if Anand wins candidates). Or any dark horse or unpredictable player who can play '?!' moves to mix it up and who is not afraid of anyone. Much more exciting than Anand, whose objective against Carlsen is to not lose too ...

Nov-11-14 Anand vs Carlsen, 2014 (replies)

iuventus: @ Chessinfinite. I see. Thanks. No, I don't know this Indianfan. But I agree with his point about the manner in which Carlsen [belatedly] resigned.

Dec-29-11 Morozevich vs Nakamura, 2011 (replies)

iuventus: @King Death: You need to look up the terms 'non sequitur' and 'reductio ad absurdum'. I'm a Dr of maths and it seems to me that you have no idea what either means.

   Jul-16-07 J Cobb vs A Spice, 2007 (replies)

iuventus: This is exactly the kind of thing that makes me hate playing against the French Tarrasch. Black has all the fun. Far better to just play the exchange variation and stop mucking around.

   Jul-05-07 Grischuk vs Bacrot, 2004

iuventus: Could someone please tell me why AG wouldn't just play 54. Rb6+ and then pick off the g pawn??

   Jun-11-07 Hjartarson vs J Nogueiras, 1988 (replies)

iuventus: What a mess for white. All of the pieces horribly uncoordinated and slow and cumbersome. Games like that are the stuff of nightmares.

Oct-13-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

iuventus: Servers couldn't cope with demand. What a surprise! NOT! How predictable that the websites couldn't handle the demand. 21st century and still can't even transmit a simple chess game. Ruined all the thrill of real time match for me. Chessgames you need a bigger server!

   Jan-30-06 Lagno vs S Shepeleva, 2001 (replies)

iuventus: Man, I've never seen such crass kibitzing as there is today. It did'nt exactly get off to a good start did it? It's not even worth analysis. 37 Rh3# or 37 Qh8# - thank you and good night.

   Dec-09-05 V Nevednichy vs D Antic, 2001 (replies)

iuventus: Good Morning. I am shocked by the clumsy play by white. Even I wouldn't play some of those moves! What's that silly pawn-grab on move 34 all about?
