I have returned to competitive chess after a long layoff and am currently rated about 2140 USCF. I would like to reach 2200 someday, but with work, kids, etc., we'll have to see....

letekro: <perfidious> "Oh no, my queen". Not one of Boris's better efforts, though perhaps both of you were playing under less-than-ideal conditions given the tournament.

letekro: I echo the comments of <perfidious>. I had a number of tough - but very enjoyable - battles with him over the years. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago. RIP. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituarie...

letekro: <Caissanist> Kirkland has a two-tier partnership so moving from senior associate in a single-tier partnership (Debevoise) to a non-equity partner at a two-tiered partnership (Kirkland) is essentially a lateral move. When she gets a "P.C." after her name on the Kirkland ...

letekro: Ridiculous double-blunders on move 22 suggest that a move pair is missing. My guess is that after 21 . . . Ra5, White played the obvious 22. Nb4, to which Black responded 22 . . . Rh5. Then the remaining moves make sense.

letekro: One of chess.com's toughest keyboard warriors.

   Oct-24-21 Victor Polyak

letekro: This guy was right around 2200 strength, but would only play at that level when playing in under 2200 sections. When I played him in open sections where he had no shot at prize money, he played at 2000 strength at best. Classic sandbagging behavior.

letekro: Awesome!

letekro: Following up my previous post, after 30...f6, 31. Bxd5+ looks crushing. So I think 29. Nf5 is also winning.

letekro: Is this game from the 1992 Grandmaster-Beginner challenge?

letekro: That hurt to watch.
