Oct-01-08 Kasparov vs Kramnik, 2000 (replies)

niceforkingmove: Mr. Schiller How could it be that "anyone who saw Kasparov just before the game knows that he was clearly greatly distracted by a non-chess matter" ? I suppose that one can observe certain actions that show Mr. Kasparov was distracted or upset. But how would one rule out ...

Oct-16-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

niceforkingmove: I will be really ticked off if Kramnik puts this title up in a stupid tournament. (mexico 2007) I think he would be crazy to do anything other than say "I have had enough of FIDE." Now is the time to see if he can't work through the acp and get a decent candidates *match* ...

niceforkingmove: Koltanowski could have drawn with black in that endgame blindfolded :)

   Jul-02-05 Garry Kasparov (replies)

niceforkingmove: You know your Danged if you do and danged if you don't. If he doesn't go there he is cold if he does he is an opportunist. Fact is when people suffer tragedy sometiems it does help if there is recognition from political leaders. That includes visiting the site and meeting ...

niceforkingmove: Bottom line is Kramnik was never rated higher than Kasparov. But even Kasparov admits Kramnik was better than he was at the tiem of the 2000 match.(Kramnik was rated like 70 points below Kasparov at the time of the match) As between ratings, and a good sized match between ...

niceforkingmove: Wait Adams and Nielson *both* have black in the game where they play eachother! And Nielson and Bacrot *both* have black in thier game agasint eachother. So only 3 of the 10 players have 5 whites after all. Just Kidding Dionyseus:) Actually with respect to the pairings I ...

   Jun-28-05 Viswanathan Anand (replies)

niceforkingmove: I think Kramnik and (anand or kasp) would be a better mix.

niceforkingmove: <offramp> Chessmetrics doesn't use FIDE ratings. It corrected everyones rating to adjsut for the inflation we see in FIDE ratings. Thus I'm not sure Adams was rated 2737 (and Larsen was 2650) under chessmetrics.

   Jun-23-05 Adams - Hydra Match (2005) (replies)

niceforkingmove: Kramnik and Leko would fair better. Kramnik really just trounced Fritz in Bahrain. Then in the end of the match started going a bit crazy with piece sacrifices and ended up drawing the match.
