noviant: kingsindian2006: i cant finish this game....can someone show me the winning line for black..thanks It's an end game study but in the end, only White's King and "a" pawn versus Black's King, Knight and "e" pawn. For example 48. g4+ Ke5, 49. h4 Na4, 50. g5 Nc4+ blocking the White's ...

noviant: OBIT: OK, I see my OTB analysis wasn't too hot, either. After 43. Rxd7 Bxd7 44. Kc7?? Be8, better is 45. c5 a3 46. c6 a2 47. d7 a1=Q 48. d8=Q, but White is losing after 48...Qa5+ 49. Kc8 Qa8+ 50. Kc7 Qxc6+. White move on 48. d8=Q is check (and mate in 2), so black can't do Qa5+.

noviant: you have any idea, what should black move??? Any moves wouldn't make any better for black.... He resign coz he really knows who's his opponent...
   Jan-11-10 Caruana vs V Gashimov, 2009 (replies)
noviant: Eyal: 18.Bc5 leads White to immediate trouble: 18...c6 I preffered exchange the Q for B + R, while Black's Rook still inactive and pressure the pawn on e5 and f4.
Jan-11-10 Gelfand vs Nakamura, 2010 (replies)
noviant: veigaman...pls watch live games at : and if you watched this game live, so you know why I commented like that. Last Move Gelfand only had 1 minute left time and Naka still had around 70 minutes..
Jan-06-10 Nakamura vs Sasikiran, 2010 (replies)
noviant: Naka challenge Sasi in rapid chess, on move 28 (12 moves to reach 40) both timer less than 10 minutes with complicated position. Congrats to Naka for the win !!
Dec-02-09 Jakovenko vs Grischuk, 2009 (replies)
noviant: I agree with <Eyal>... example game from previous round : Naiditsch vs Svidler, 2009 Naiditsch's position from a lot better (he only need a draw) became totally lost and slipped a chance to go to the next round. Grischuk not lucky this time....

noviant: Here's my prediction for last 8 match up (Round 4): Left Side Pairing : Gelfand-Vachier Lagrave Grischuk-Jakovenko Laznicka Mamedyarov Sakaev-Karjakin Right Side Pairing : Gashimov-Alekseev Ponomariov-Wang Yue Svidler-Shirov Kamsky-Eljanov Let's see...
Nov-20-09 Anand vs Kosteniuk, 2009 (replies)
noviant: After I saw the video, I guessed Anand try to make AK lost on time...AK was in time trouble (in move 23, AK's time around 25s left)...great escape...
Nov-18-09 Anand vs Gelfand, 2009 (replies)
noviant: 50 moves without pawn move or exchange (lose pawn) is draw according the rules I gues.... sample game : Ivanchuk vs Kamsky, 2009
