Feb-21-09 Kamsky vs Topalov, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Why Nc8?? Why not Rd8 and Red7 ready to push the d-pawn?

Feb-20-09 Anand vs Aronian, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: That must have been a blunder by black? Nc4+ is better.

Feb-20-09 Topalov vs Kamsky, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Nb6 Ra7?

Feb-17-09 Topalov vs Kamsky, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Any thoughts on how white will bring the second rook into the game? Re1?

Jan-23-09 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Is it worth it for white to get the black knight away by Nxf7 Kxf7 Ne5+?

Jan-20-09 Smeets vs Kamsky, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Bxh6 is very tempting

Jan-19-09 Carlsen vs Movsesian, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Is this a forced draw?

   Jan-18-09 Aronian vs Y Wang, 2009 (replies)

pbernh: Just curious if anyone has ideas why black didn't go: 17...Bxc3, 18.bxc3 Qxc3 (19. Bf4)

   Jan-17-09 A Khasin vs Tal, 1956 (replies)

pbernh: 'quovadis: here white could have won this game by 28.Qg3! and if 28... g6 or 28...Ne6 29.BxR and easy win ... ' Why would black answer with any of the moves suggested (g6/f6/Ne6/Ng6/Qe5). Isn't it more simple to just reply 28...Re5 or 28...Rg5? Why hang the rook?

Jan-01-09 Stellwagen vs Korchnoi, 2008 (replies)

pbernh: I have two questions, based on what I would be tempted to play, that I hope someone can help me with. 1) why was black not tempted to move ...c5 before he did on move 20? 2) why is 43...Rxa3 and the advance of the a and b pawns a bad idea?
