May-10-20 FIDE Chess.com Online Nations Cup (2020) (replies)

pdvossen: I thought in her last two matches Irina Krush held herself well. Giving the USA at least a chance in the finals.

Mar-20-20 Nutcracker Match of the Generations (2020)

pdvossen: I thought this was a kind of fun tourney to follow.

   Mar-20-20 Grischuk vs H Wang, 2020 (replies)

pdvossen: Alexander could have won every match with better time management. I love his gutsy play and such, its just tough to watch him struggle with time. He could be a beast in a match with Magnus.

Jan-24-20 Duda vs Carlsen, 2020 (replies)

pdvossen: It is even if the computer is to be believed. I do like how Magnus has his rooks on the back rank. Yet, Duda has those Knights in an agressive fashion.

Oct-10-19 Isle of Man Grand Swiss (2019) (replies)

pdvossen: I love this Swiss Style tourney. A lot of fun chess players on the docket, and I trust plenty of fireworks.

Oct-10-19 Carlsen vs Kuzubov, 2019 (replies)

pdvossen: Magnus seems to have strong center support exactly where he wants. I am wondering what Aleksandrovich is planning with that queen on G5? Overall, it is early, Magnus seems to relish the hunt.

   Sep-16-19 San Antonio (1972) (replies)

pdvossen: We can only ask " What if " when it comes to what it could have been if Bobby had kept it together and moved on with his chess. Nevertheless, I think chess is moving in the right direction, and the online explosion is helping a lot. Magnus I think is good for the game as well.

Jul-29-19 Euwe vs Keres, 1940 (replies)

pdvossen: This match is classic Keres. Attacking and moving forward with a thriving attack. Many would just try to muddy up the matches they played with Paul, or just make it not very interesting, that way seeing Keres at times just grab a draw. Or, making curious moves that would become ...

Jul-29-19 Keres vs Capablanca, 1938 (replies)

pdvossen: Paul Keres is one of my favorite players. I love Fischer, Tal, Kasporov, Short and more. However, the inventive and very strong games of Paul Keres intrigue me. So close to becoming World Champion so many times. His chess is simply powerful, and beautiful to study. If not for ...
