May-07-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)

rezubler: Is Anand angling for a Queen exchange?

rezubler: or 61.Ra7

May-04-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)

rezubler: yes, engines say take the h pawn

   Feb-17-10 T Manescu vs A Manea, 2001 (replies)

rezubler: Nice mating attack with the bishop setup by black. No way to stop it without at least giving up the rook. 28.Bc1 probably was the big break for black. Maybe 28.Bb2 saves it for white?

   Dec-19-08 G Giorgadze vs V Vepkhvishvili, 1985 (replies)

rezubler: Oopps! 19 .. Bxe6 instead of fxe6 leaves black hanging on for little awhile longer. Still hard to image white not winning even after the better capture.

   Oct-30-08 F Mensing vs M Alemyar, 2004

rezubler: 21 .. Qh5 is bad and spells the end for black

Aug-04-08 Battle of the Brains II, 2008 (replies)

rezubler: team black I simply prefer Kh7 to keep our N freed up and allow for a quick dbling of rooks. It also gives White more to worry about in the short term. I have not found any analysis to make me prefer the other option.

   May-22-08 F Lupi vs G J Wood, 1946

rezubler: 36. Ke1 was the real blunder. An interesting battle of pawn storms, but Wood showed a bit more patience here.

   May-04-08 P Acs vs L Vajda, 2002 (replies)

rezubler: 19. .. Re7 loses it -- I don't see the logic to that move at all and Black never recovers from the loss of the rook.

Feb-16-08 Ivanchuk vs Bareev, 1995 (replies)

rezubler: interesting focus on the d-pawn thrust to start piling on the attacks. Bareev must of felt like he had his chances attacking f2 after 19 ..Bc5 but Ivanchuk had great mobility and had no trouble keeping Bareev locked up. 23. Nc7 made it look real back for black.
