   Apr-18-06 S Sahu vs Anand, 1987 (replies)

silvio: Even after only 50 moves even a top grandmaster may overlook the mate on f2. I dont believe that it has anything to do with granting dignity (?). Re3 was simply programmed in the technic that would be right in a different setting.

   Mar-22-06 Gligoric vs E Nievergelt, 1959 (replies)

silvio: pretty but not hard to see. All the main points have been already mentioned in above comments. starting from the given position the only finesse is the capture of the bishop on c6. If this is not seen the positionis not solved.

Feb-17-06 Kasparov vs Adams, 2005 (replies)

silvio: just like all the greats Kasparov's moves look so naturally simple and logical! but us ordinary mortals only can admire while we are unable to imitate them in practice. A beautiful game by Kasparov.

Feb-05-06 Suetin vs Bagirov, 1961 (replies)

silvio: ffire's answer to Cogano's 47...Qxe6 isthe correct one. On 47..Qxe6 White answer is NOT 48.Qxa6?! but indeed 48.Rb8 + leading to mate. Quite obvious I must say

Jan-20-06 Sakaev vs Kasparov, 2003 (replies)

silvio: Am I missing something? please correct this woodpusher. Is not 39 Bxe6 not bad for black even with 39...c5+ I am at aloss and think that I am missing something quite obvious and simple ??

   Jan-12-06 V Akopian vs Kasparov, 2002 (replies)

silvio: In this game Kasparov played below himself. It can happen (rarely !!) to the greatest. the small number of moves is the most embarrassing here but but after all he is human !!

   Jan-10-06 Capablanca vs H Steiner, 1933 (replies)

silvio: If black wants to prolong the agony Patzer 2 has indicated the only way 24...Kb5 but even Steiner is completely lost after the capture of the black queen so.... a brilliant ending vintage Capa

   Dec-28-05 A Wilhelm vs W Bareiss, 1971 (replies)

silvio: Rg5 is correct and gives the best chance to win. But over the board if white is a strong player he could put black to some tiresome work. With twoequally strong players the game is over for white.

Jun-03-05 Kramnik vs Huebner, 1996 (replies)

silvio: did white lose in time ? how can black win this game?

   Apr-05-05 A Nimzowitsch vs Systemsson, 1927 (replies)

silvio: I dont know about this opening being a joke but Nimzo certainly would not indulge in it if he was playing a serious game in an important tournament.
