   Jan-04-20 Marshall vs Rubinstein, 1908

skotlander: leroquentin - 32.Ra7 looks like it should win but amazingly, Black can defend this attack. Komodo shows Black getting the advantage then.

Dec-31-19 Azziem Mohammed vs Denker, 1992

skotlander: Denker came very close to losing this one against a 1700 player. 14.Bxh7 was a little too optimistic- 14.Qh5 instead would have increased the pressure and led to a strong attack. Soltis covers this game in his book on the Stonewall.

   Dec-23-14 M Sharbaf vs J Lavasani, 2006

skotlander: Both sides play the opening inaccurately- White should have played 7.Nh3. After 7.Qe2?!, Black could have exploited this by 7.cxd4! forcing White to reply 8.cxd4 which is positionally antithetical in the Stonewall.

Apr-30-09 Keene vs Miles, 1982 (replies)

skotlander: I really like this game. Ray's Q-sac was interesting even if it didn't quite work out in the end. The ending was beautifully played by Tony. Both players deserve credit for creating a nice game.

Oct-21-08 Anand vs Kramnik, 2008 (replies)

skotlander: Hiarcs gives 2. Bc5 Ne4 22.b4 with Anand's advantage growing every move

   Oct-17-08 M Basman vs M Stean, 1973 (replies)

skotlander: Basman had prepared this line so it was a deliberate gambit. Other games in this line show good results for white. Perhaps best for black is Hodgson's 13... f6 where black gives back some pawns and manages to untangle his k-side pieces. I have played this line as white for 20 ...

Jul-06-08 Anand vs Robatsch, 1992 (replies)

skotlander: al wazir, after18.Qd8 Qb5 it looks like 19.Qxe8 Qxe8 20. Rd8 Qxd8 21. Bxd8 leaves white with three well-placed minor pieces against rook. bishop and extra pawn and what looks like an easy win due to the awkward position of the black rook.

   Jun-08-08 Larsen vs Ujtumen, 1968

skotlander: Ujtumen must have praying for an earthquake at the end there- he could have resigned a lot sooner.

Apr-15-08 Alekhine vs Diurnbaum, 1910 (replies)

skotlander: Nh3 is not that unusual in the Stonewall, some books give it as best.
