starry2013: The default cam placement on the players seems to be looking down on them, which isn't good and is way worse than we had for online games. A good point is Carlsen is using the confession booth so we can get his opinion during the game.
Aug-20-20 Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour Finals (2020) (replies)
starry2013: No idea why Carlsen picked white in the first armageddon, black always seems at an advantage. It was almost like Carlsen wanted to drag this out to the end.
   Jun-17-20 Clutch International (2020) (replies)
starry2013: Carlsen has a better natural ability to assess positions. They should really try and do longer time controls online, at least 30 minutes. Conservatives like Svidler say you can't, but I disagree, these tournaments don't have to be all at blitz or near-blitz.
May-03-20 Ding Liren vs Carlsen, 2020 (replies)
starry2013: I think Ding pushed this when he might have had a draw because he thought it might be difficult for him playing blitz games past 1am.
Apr-22-20 Magnus Carlsen Invitational (2020) (replies)
starry2013: I'm not sure about the armageddon way of deciding matches, at least the way it's done. I feel it favours black more, it's just easier to draw. The time odds aren't enough to balance at this top tier level. And switching from rapid to decide things in a blitz time control is even ...

starry2013: Andrea Botez of twitch fame, she's hilarious. bang! bang! baaanng!!
Mar-27-20 World Championship Candidates (2020/21) (replies)
starry2013: Petrosianic: <But very unlikely, and unfair to all the other players.> Some other players wouldn't mind, and there could even be an argument for some of them that it is fair. Ding had to prepare in quarantine, Grischuk lost all interest in playing. For example.
Mar-17-20 Ding Liren vs H Wang, 2020 (replies)
starry2013: Probably not enjoyable living in quarantines for weeks.
   Mar-06-20 Wesley So (replies)
starry2013: I read that Mamedyarov is next, then Anand, and then Aronian for average ratings. Don't know how true that is.
   Feb-01-20 Adams vs M Antipov, 2020
starry2013: Antipov used up plenty of his clock and didn't leave enough time at the end. Obviously there's a balance between playing all the near best moves and having time left to finish the game at the end.
