May-18-07 E Steiner vs Alekhine, 1921
|
tTinker: Alekhine's Defense is a sound opening by having an independent merit over other black defeneses. |

May-18-07 B Gamback vs R Nevanlinna, 2001
|
tTinker: You don't even need to resign until you are a move from an absolute checkmate. There was this one game or something where Botvinnik had four pieces hanging, yet his opponent couldn't capture any of them. Now don't be captain obvious and point out that this is a pin, it's still ... |

Aug-16-06 Short vs Salov, 1990
|
tTinker: This is the kind of ending I'm afraid of, you though a complex bishops of opposite with a lot of pawns did it. I guess bishop endings take longer because they can only hit half the squares. With knights, it appears more cut and dry but I could be wrong. |

Aug-13-06 Garry Kasparov

tTinker: Don't people lost chess games by overanalyzing positions? |

Aug-13-06 Fischer vs Benko, 1963
|
tTinker: tTinker: gf looks ugly to me. It clearly splits the pawns and gives good squares for whites pieces, I guess at GM level, allowing your opponent to exchange the fienchetto pawn is not a good idea, but it hasn't been too much of a problem for me. After Ne2 the final move, Qd8 looks ... |
