   Jul-01-07 T Hampton vs J Owen, 1858

theskandinavian: Great game by Owen! Except the blunder 29.Rc6?? he played very well. With 30.d5! Hampton would have won the bishop on b6 and the game...

   May-12-07 K Petersen vs S Pedersen, 2000 (replies)

theskandinavian: 32. Kg8?? is a big blunder; Kh8 would have saved the draw. The sacrifice at move 30 wasn't sound 'cause it leads to a draw while 30. Rf6 would have been better for white. Nevertheless a very nice game.

   Apr-12-07 T Paehtz Sr vs M Lyell, 2007

theskandinavian: It seems that black missed 41... Rxe4+!! which would lead to a winning position for black! With 24.Qxg4 or 25.Qxg4 white's play would've been easier.

   Mar-16-07 S Erenburg vs S Geirnaert, 2003

theskandinavian: For example: 35. cxb4! Qxd7 36. Qxc4 Rc8 37. Bc5! bxc5 38. bxc5+ Ka5 39.b4+ Ka4 40.Kc3 and black has to sacrifice hie rook. After the sacrifice, white has a winning position.

   Mar-16-07 Mason vs J Baird, 1889

theskandinavian: It's interesting to see how the opinions of 5.Bxe3!? differed at this time. While Steinitz prefered to play Bxe3 and Na5, Tarrasch said in his book "Das Schachspiel" that 5.Bxe3? and Na5? are two blunders, because the exchanges open the rook lines.

   Mar-12-07 M Bulgarini Torres vs G Bartsch, 2000

theskandinavian: I wonder why Bartsch didn't play on. After exchanging the Queens and with the rook on c3 he has some advantage, which should lead to a win. It was e-mail chess - so he had enough time to think about it...

   Sep-02-06 R Rysan vs M Drtina, 1994 (replies)

theskandinavian: Today I played a game, which was similar to yours until the 8th move: Radica-Lenz(Regional Youth Masters U18 2/9/06): 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Nc3 Nxe4 5. Nxe4 d5 6. Qe2 dxc4 7. Qxc4 Be6 8. Qb5 Qd5 9. Qxd5 Bxd5 10. d3?! f5 and I had a position, which was quiet good.

Aug-29-06 The World vs A Nickel, 2006 (replies)

theskandinavian: <sixfeetunder> I also think that we should avoid 3.d4. I'd like to play a Rossolimo with 2.Nf3 and 3.Bb5...

   Aug-28-06 Youth - Experience (2006) (replies)

theskandinavian: <gmgomes> Yes, I agree with you. I just gave the answer to <sitzkrieg>'s question... I think Beliavsky is winning in this position...

   Aug-13-06 J Houska vs T Pym, 2006

theskandinavian: Yes, nice finish! After black moving the rook, white moves Nxf6+ and mates the next move... well done!
