I am interested in Exploring this vast universe, and Chess is by itself a universe within this universe. Complicated by the fact that there are even parallel universes of chess where weird pieces move in different ways on different sized boards. Mind boggling.

CHESS 101:

1. Objective is to capture your opp king and to hold his decapitated head up as trophy.

2. You never ever let your king be attacked by anyone.

3. if i have no move available, my king will commit suicide (and set himself on fire) thus depriving my enemy of the win, since he failed in his objective of capturing my king and carrying out subsequent decapitation.

4. Castling is a special move involving the king and rook to transport the king to one of two bunkers located specifically on either wing. (This explains Fischer Random Chess castling for those who can't understand)

zaxcvd: Stop trying to be a computer...You can at best be a very INFERIOR computer. This game actually shows why GMs are Gms and patzers are patzers. You don't calculate anything -- you have to "feel" the position.

zaxcvd: blitz rating is not just 3 minute. 2+12 5+12 are all blitz even though 5+12 is 13 minutes for 40 moves and can be longer than a 15+0 std game. What Im' saying if you have FICs 1700 std rating then you will have FICS 1200-1300 in blitz even if you play just 2+12 5+12 games. I dont ...
