Thanks for the premium membership <Chesstoplay>!

Hello everyone, I'm Taalan Liebermann. I currently live in Fort Myers Florida. I am 17 as i write this and have been playing since age 7, athough i quit playing for seven years and have only started to study chess since about late 2005.I've never had a chess tutor or lesson or whatever. I have just started playing in tournaments again, since i have only played 3 tournaments my official rating is innacurate, not sure where i am, i can regularly hang in against (win maybe 1/4 of games, draw 1/4, lose 1/2) a 2000 and a former FM (also probably ranked around 2000), then i lose against people rated 1600 on yahoo, lol, so i don't really know where i'm at. I love all kinds of openings, and play as both white and black in the Queen's Gambit, the King's gambit, the Evans gambit (primarily as white), the Guicco Piano (and the italian Game in general), the French (my favorite reply to 1 e4), all the Indian openings and some others, although recently i have been playing almost exclusively the Bird's opening as white, which I love. My favorite player would have to be Alekine followed closely by Morphy. Favorite generation of players would have to be the Lasker, Capablanca, Alekine, Nimzovitch generation. Favorite game is Bogoljubov vs. Alekine in 1922, the one where Alekine sacs 3 queens and 2 rooks to win with an extra pawn. Favorite opening: Bird's Opening. Favorite chess website would of course have to be cg.com although i have recently discovered videochess.net and chess-videos.com which are also awesome. Cheers!

Here's a website my dad made about our years living in China http://www.geocities.com/tlieber/ch... , hope you enjoy it!

   Sep-30-07 Viswanathan Anand (replies)

Themofro: <IIIIIIIIII> Anand will be the world champion, Kramnik will be the challenger. At least officially and in the minds of those involved (Kramnik himself included), many Kramnik fans of course will differ with this however.

Themofro: <fromoort: So, if Anand draws and Gelfand wins, they will each have four wins. What is the tiebreak in this case?> Well Anand would have to <lose> and Gelfand win for them to be tied in points (highly unlikely). As for the tiebreakers I keep hearing conflicting stories,

Themofro: While I would like to see Anand win this, highly doubt that it will be anything more than a short draw. As for the other important game, Morozevich vs. Gelfand, Gelfand will of course go all out with some crazy ideas and attacks, but Moro is one of the best in the world in doing ...

Themofro: <you vs. yourself> Very interesting interview (really shows you how little you know about rook endings =)). Thanks for posting it!

Themofro: Final round predictions: Svidler-Grischuk 1-0 Anand-Leko 1/2 Morozevich-Gelfand 1-0 Kramnik-Aronian 1/2

Themofro: <Boomie> Yeah it's pretty awesome, just found out about it myself a couple days ago. Sadly, it has a huge negative effect as well: causing extreme jealously in people cursed with slow analysing computers such as myself =)

Themofro: I like you vs. yourself's suggestion here, Qg2, then Ne2 (gain of tempo) then Nc3 going for the d5 square.

Sep-24-07 Kramnik vs Anand, 2007 (replies)

Themofro: If Anand draws or wins this game, you've got to like his chances of winning the whole thing, although the way it is now he could even lose this match and still lead =)

Themofro: On to game 2!
