Dec-27-06 Efimov vs Bronstein, 1941 (replies)

kaiX: i would say this is more of a monday puzzle rather than a tuesday... two rather obvious moves, with very limited possibilities for white to react... makes me glad i was able to get it

   Dec-22-06 R Richmond vs G Burgess, 2001 (replies)

kaiX: "chesslearning: Me neither. I didn't notice that 3 pieces were attacking f8." i think you were supposed to solve for black, not white... i didn't look too closely at first so i started trying to figure it out for white... then i noticed it said black... and i had no clue... interesting

   Dec-15-06 A Cherepkov vs Bronstein, 1961 (replies)

kaiX: i looked at 30. exf2+ and it looked quite good to me until i realized i was looking at turn 29... white moving 29.Rd5 pretty much makes a capture with the pawn worthless i had the first few moves of this up till the knight promotion... i would have gone with the standard queen ...

   Dec-02-06 A Schneider vs Dolmatov, 1983 (replies)

kaiX: all right, please tell me if i'm missing something, but wouldn't another way to checkmate at this point would be letting black take the queen fork? 31. Rxg6 Nf2+ 32. Kg2 Nxh3 33. Bxg7+ that's only if black committed to the queen fork however...

   Nov-24-06 W N Watson vs J Littlewood, 1991 (replies)

kaiX: yea i definately didn't get that whole exchange... the rook sac is pretty clear... white did a good job to force black into that mate... black noticed the danger, but it was too late
